This photograph is taken from a series of shots taken of beaches, mainly in the South-West of England. I love finding pieces of driftwood on the beach and capturing them on camera. This was a real find for me - a great big clump of reeds, which created a completely different atmosphere. It gives a much softer image ... I wonder how it arrived at the beach?

This photograph is taken from a series of shots taken of beaches, mainly in the South-West of England, this one is in the north of Somerset. The shot was taken at the end of a rare sunny day this summer and it spoke to me of children having unlimited, innocent fun.

Do you know what it is yet? I could not resist taking this shot while I was covering a wedding at the local Registrar's Office. It is a handrail outside the building.

Another view of Llyn Crafnant reservoir, this time from the southern shore. This shot is a composition of three sets of panoramas, exposed at different exposure compensation (0, +1 and +2) to capture the highlight detail in the sky and clouds.

The Old Church of St Nicholas on Uphill. The Norman church of St Nicholas, probably on even older foundations, dominates village and bay from the top of the hill, providing a navigational mark for centuries of sailors battling through the confused tidal currents of the Bay into the Axe. Below the church, Uphill Wharf provided moorings and protection for village fishermen bringing in their catches of cod, whiting, shrimps, sprats and congers, not to mention the occasional cargo of contraband to be hidden in Uphill's sand dunes until the coastguard had passed by.
