This photograph was taken during a walk last weekend. As I said, I am enjoying playing around with the effects that can be achieved when photographing flowers and plants. Again, on this one, I chose to change the focal point away from the obvious central point. I quite like the abstract effect that this gives.

I was taken by the way these pebbles glistened in the sunlight after the waves had washed over them. The water really brought out the variations in the colours - before that they were just dull and grey.

Here I found a huge boulder that has been eroded by the action of tide and smaller stones, creating a natural bowl. I was fascinated by the contrasts within this shot and the fact that the smaller stones were still within the dish of the boulder.

This photograph was taken during a walk last weekend. Up to now, I have avoided taking photographs of plants but have realised that I can look at them differently and am enjoying playing with the different effects that can be achieved, for example by changing the point of focus, as I have in this shot.
